Perhaps, if you reviewed the multitude of Contact Forms that Hank and Team Aqua does, you may have a different opinion. Unfortunately, a fair share of accounts have, are, and will be terminated when they appear to ‘swap bills’.
You present good examples. I have some very similar ones. I am sure others have millions of others. *smile*
The simple rule that I apply to myself… Only enter one or two bills… to be on the same safe side. Maybe, I am more conservative than others. Why risk putting my account in jeopardy…. having it get terminated… then trying to explain to Hank, “please re-instate my account”. Perhaps, Hank will not be that generous. It is not worth risking. I enjoy the site too much. *smile*
Sometimes, the bills that I don’t enter, I will add to my Favorites / Subscriptions.
If a person enjoys the site, I think they SHOULD be concerned of how their entered bills may be incorrectly perceived by Hank.
Granted, it would be nice if we had a perfect system here at WG. However, we don’t. There are too many people try to circumvent the few established rules. Some people place too much importance on their personal George Scores and Hit Rates, etc…. and don’t clearly see the ‘big’ WG picture. Sometimes, I think… this would be much easier if the George Scores and Hit Rates, etc…. were not displayed at all.
I don’t agree with the some of the current rules. I would prefer to enter any & all Wild Georges that I come across. But it is Hank’s site and Hank rules. So if I want to continue using his site, I will abide by his establish rules. [I don’t see myself creating my own site *laugh*] I suggest that others do the same. Perhaps, the rules will change in the future, and we can amend our current practices. Note: This has not a official WG statement. I am displaying my own personal desires. Until then, I will play by Hanks rules (and not buck the system).
So while I might respectfully disagree with you views, I suggest that individuals do NOT lead other Georgers astray with suggestions that conflict with Hank’s current established rules. *smile*
Thanks for the pleasant exchange of thoughts. *smile*
Good Luck & Happy Georgering!
Welcome
: I feel that if you find someone's bills in regular circulation, then you should enter it. Granted, if you keep finding one person's bills, it's not so "cool" and "fun" anymore. But I do NOT think one would need to worry about getting negative attention from Hank from something like that unless it were a LOT of bills.
: I think that, for the purposes of accurately tracking the travels of a bill that's been entered here at W.G., one should always enter marked bills that they find. That's the whole point of the site, right? The only reason that I would not enter wilds is if I kept getting a whole lot of them from the same person that involved a means that isn't entirely natural. For instance, if we keep shopping at the same store and keep finding each other's bills there. Or any other situation like that where you can identify exactly how the bills went from one to the other. Each situation would need to be evaluated to decide how many bills should be entered before it's time to stop entering them. And that is up to the Georger.
: Just for the sake of more examples...
: I used to work a cash register at the admissions desk of the SC State Museum. I received bills there from someone about 45 miles away on several occasions. None of these sightings resulted from her spending her bills there at the museum, to my knowledge. So I entered all of them.
: Another example: recently, I started EMSing a lot of $2 bills. There is another Georger that banks about 2 blocks from my bank. Between these two backs is a shopping center where I spend a bunch of these $2 bills. So when I and the other Georger go to our respective banks to get some more $2 bills, we often find each other's marked bills, as well as our own marked bills that went full circle. So far, I have entered all of them that I've found, which isn't all that many... 3-4 maybe? But the other guy has found about 10-15 of mine. He hasn't entered any in a while, though, so it may be that he no longer enters my twos when he finds them. In this example, I would consider stopping entering those bills. But my threshhold has not been reached yet. Maybe if I find a bunch more, I'll think about it...
: I guess my point is that a lot of us worry too much about hitting bills and getting in trouble with Hank for entering too many of another person's bills. But remember, the point is to track the money! As long as you aren't trading bills directly, or if there is not some "bill pipeline" that is resulting in you obtaining lots of bills from the same person, you shouldn't worry. It's natural circulation.
