In your previous post, I thought were inquiring on the 'refresh' aspect. *smile*

Image location URL:
In MS IE, I am aware of and do use the 'right click / copy shortcut'. In MS IE, I do not see the option to 'right click / copy image location'. So I suggest: 'right click (on the map image and select Properties) / select Address URL (makes sure you move down and select the entire URL, even the portion that is not initially displayed in the URL window). If someone knows a quicker shortcut, please inform me, and I will update my page.

I have updated the page again WG FOG 50 State Map Instructions. Thanks.

JT, the following is not directed at you personally, but for others who may be interested. *smile*
In Dena's case, I don't think it was fact that she had NOT copied and pasted the URL correctly. I am still lead to believe that: when she first ran 'Your Bills/All Hits by State' to generate her 'initial' WG FOG map, she may *not* have performed a browser 'refresh' to save the map image to her URL location. This is why I think the program contains an 'undocumented feature' (bug), where as other programs do not require a user to implicitly refresh. For this reason, I bring attention to this fact on my page under 'Points of interest:' in hopes that others can fix, should they experience similar symptoms.

Thanks,
Hans,

: But it must have gotten Dena;-) I rarely open frames in new windows, for that purpose anyway. I'm a NS user so I can Right Click | Copy Image Location to get the map's URL. I've been telling IE users to open the Properties window to get the URL, only because I saw an IE user post that he used that method. New Window works too.

: : : I think what works better is to Right Click on the frame that you want to reload and select Refresh. That should just Refresh the frame with your map or profile or what ever in it. When you use the Refresh button on the toolbar it reloads whatever is in the Address box (like www.wheresgeorge.com). I've been meaning to talk to HMG about that but I am a NS user and really don't know a lot about how IE works. Somethings are similar, some are a little different.

: : I was using the term 'refresh' in the general sense of the word. If I visit a site that contains frames, I usually 'right click / open in a new window' so that I can:
: : 1) access the URL in the URL address box and
: : 2) press the 'refresh' button, and it will refresh the page (not just the selected frame (in another page)).

: : In the forums, I usually 'right click / refresh' in order that I don't get repositioned to the top of the browser. *smile*

: : Do you think I should modify the WG FOG 50 State Map Instructions and add a footnote for 'refresh'?

: : My original purpose of the page was to assist new georgers with inserting a WG FOG map into their profile. I was hoping that the links would assist with the HTML and browser mechanics? I hope I don't sound sarcastic. If you think I should add a reference to 'refresh', then I will. *smile*

: : Thanks,
: : Hans,
