: just read on my 5 dollar bill this site. now what?
On the main page (which you can get to by clicking "Where's George Home" at left), there is a form to enter your bill. You need to fill out the fields like this:
Denomination: Select $5 from the drop-down menu.
Series (Year): At the bottom, to the right of Abe Lincoln's picture, you will see the word SERIES with a year below that, and possibly a letter below the number (for example, 1999 or 1988A). Select the matching series from the drop-down menu. If the series includes a letter, be sure to include that letter in your selection.
Serial Number: This is the long green number that appears in two corners of the bill. This will be either one or two letters, followed by eight numbers and another letter. The last letter might be relaced by a star. Enter the entire serial number (including letters but without spaces) here. If there is a star, use the asterisk (shift-8).
Do you have this bill right now?: Yes or No
Please enter a short note about this bill if you like: This box gives you a chance to add notes about the bill, such as where you got it or its condition. User notes are not required but definitely encouraged.
Happy Georging!
