Thank you for straightening that out. That makes sense. It would be best for me, to try to have marked bills on me when possible, so I can spend them instead, so I can go home later, and enter the new bills I get for spending later.
It is so hard to let a bill go, unmarked. I will follow the rules, and take whatever steps I can, to make sure that I mark all bills fairly.
: Oh and then, there are those cases… when the bill gets on a plane from LA to Boston, with a delayed entry and receives subsequent hits.
: Person A gets the bill in LA (incorrectly does not enter the bill first… EMS) and spends it. The bill gets on a plane, and is found by person B who enters it in Boston, within a short period of time. Person A remembers the bill and (incorrectly not following EMS) enters the bill. Now, person C finds the bill one block away in Boston and enters the bill. But the second entry depicts LA (incorrectly - delayed entry). Other people complain that bill has traveled too far, too soon to be valid; then request from Hank that the bill be deleted.
: It's a big headache to straighten out. Sometimes, it's easier to just delete all the entries or block the bill entirely from WG for entry. This may seem like a hypothetical situation, but similar events have happened in the past. It's easier for all involved to just remember to Enter, Mark, Spend. *smile* - Thanks,

: "Second, some people break the rules by stamping and/or marking their bills, writing down the serial numbers, and entering into the database AFTER THEY'VE SPENT the bills! If someone finds the bills before the person got home to enter
: the bills, you'll get no history. Worse yet, when they do finally enter the bills, the hits are out of order, and then THEY write me
: to complain. Even worse still, some people just plain forget to enter the bills or lose the paper with the numbers. None of this
: would happen if everyone followed the User Guidelines."
: Good Luck & Happy Georgering!

: : I did not know that we are not allowed to enter bills that we don't have.
: : Yesterday, I go to eat at Chick-fil-a. I get a $5 bill back. I write down the serial number, stamp it, then spend it at Walmart. So, I go home, enter this bill, I indicate that I no longer have it, and then get a message saying I can't record it, since I no longer have it.
: : I don't think this is fair for every situation. I think I should be able to enter a bill that I spent only within the last hour or so. The timestamp doesn't have to be exactly on the hour, anyway. I would like to think that this message referred to a longer period of time, and that entering bills you just spent, is okay.
