: I guarantee you that there are folks out there that have the abbility to cripple this site.

I can guarantee that this task, while not impossible is pretty improbable.

:When the owner of the site shows disinterest that people are jacking wiht his site,

I don't consider it "jacking with my site" at all. Like others have said, the site is about tracking currency. I added the "Top 10 Profiles" to add a bit of fun to the site. It REALLY doesn't have anything to do with any other part of the site. It just lists the most clicked on profiles - that's it. If someone wants to take the time to manipulate it to add a little variety and/or humor to the site - so be it. I didn't expect that to happen, but it does, and I'm fine with "it". That's DOESN'T MEAN I AM FINE with people abusing other parts of the site. Don't make illogical conclusions. The PMs are not manipulating ANY DATA or hacking the site or doing anything the least bit destructive or permanent.

:that tells the a-holes out there that they can get in the system and start deleting bills or member profiles or whatever they want, without fear of recourse from the owner.

Whoa there big boy - that's quite a leap of logic! Using the Top 10 Profile list for fun and hacking into the site for destructive purposes are TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS, and of course I WOULD REACT TOTALLY DIFFERENTLY TO EACH OF THEM.

: Let em have their fun, do whatever they want, mess up stuff. It's just harmless, right?

Yes, the Profile Manipulation IS HARMLESS. That doesn't mean that I have the same attitude towards any other aspect of the site. Just ask E.carinata or Taekwondo Man how seriously I consider other actions or behaviors on the site.
