I know from being disabled once that Hank can see things in the programming that most of us can't see.

I know a lot of people don't even have time to make a profile let alone read the public forums and once they have read the FAQ's and rules basically never go back to read them. I personally don't mark all my bills the same way everytime because I don't bring my stamp on every trip I go on and depending on the pen I find I don't write it the same way every time. Hank has this rule basically set up on the honor system. I personally try my darndest to follow this rule Hank made. I don't like it but if I want to play I have to follow it. The only reason I don't like it is because I live in an area where there are a lot of georgers and it is very easy to find their wild georges and I get very excited every time I find one (30 over the past 2 1/2 years) but I don't always know who's bill it is until I have entered it. I understand Hank set it up this way because it is very prone to mass entries, I don't want to call it cheating because I still believe there can be debts paid between georgers. I think of it as more of a philisophical difference.

My questions are, "Does Hank have the time or the room in the system to create an error message or block the entry of more then one bill from One User's Account Number to a second User's Account Number?" or "Or instead of deleting and/or deactivating accounts can he set up the bills like Geocache Bills where they don't count in the Top 10 list and just don't show up on Your Bills but are recorded for postearity?". The 2nd way would let the georgers feel good about getting hits but it wouldn't really count against anything.

I was just wondering because this subject seems to come up a lot and I know Hank can be pretty stuburn and follows the rules very strictly, but I thought I would give it a try and plead my case in the court of Public Opinion to try to sway him to work with us cause I believe a happy georger enters more bills...

Just my thoughts!!! Thanks for letting me voice my Opinion!!!!

: The following are my thoughts not Hanks…

: It is *possible* that the procedure maybe be automatic… the bills are deleted and cannot/will not be re-instated. The accounts may be flagged as deactivated. I don't know for sure. I have not seen the code. Maybe, Hank chooses not to divulge said information.

: Personally, I wouldn't take the chance. I enjoy WG and *respect* Hank's wishes.

: : Georgers who mark their bills tend to mark in a consistant manner at least for some reasonable period of time before changing their style.

: If you have a bunch of bills that are marked, it's quite easy to find out whose bill it is: Answer NO to the question: 'Do you have this bill right now?' If it is from an account that you have hit before, don't enter bill, just spend it. *smile*

: : Unfortunately, there are members who continue to hit each other's bills even after entering hundreds of such bills. Unless these members read the forums, I don't think they will get the message.

: They will get the message (indirectly) when their hits disappear – or an e-mail when their account is deactivated.

: : I think it should be in the rules and furthermore everyone should have to read and agree to the rules on their annual anniversary. No one would be able to plead ignorance of any rule changes which may have occurred since they joined.

: It is written plainly in the Guidelines. If people choose to not see the black and white… and form their own grey, so it be… suffer the consequences. Hank has stated his feeling in the forums on multiple occasions. Feel free to utilize the forum google search. Perhaps, our archivist, Beaker, will post a few links.

: Hank is extremely patient and fair (a lot more than I would ever be). As a member of Team Aqua, I see the requests to have accounts re-instated. Repeat offenders are DENIED.

: Sometimes it appears that people lose sight of the big picture – that some are more concerned with a George Score or Hit Rate than they are with welfare of Where's George. You know, if it becomes too much of hassle, then Hank could shut down the whole site. I guess then, we'll have to find another net hobby. To date, I enjoy and spend most of my net time here at WG. *smile*

: And by all means, I don't want to come across as confrontational. I welcome a healthy polite discussion. Again, these are my opinions. You are entitled to yours. *smile*

: Thanks,

: : Fellow Georgers should be able to recognize another Georger's bills after entering several bills and certainly after entering a dozen or two. At this point, further entries of these bills should cease.

: : Unfortunately, there are members who continue to hit each other's bills even after entering hundreds of such bills. Unless these members read the forums, I don't think they will get the message.
