Subject: condition description

The Professer's link regarding "Bank Note Grading" was interesting. Important information for collectors, but here we are mostly interested in bills that are not collectable. As I said in that string, if I found a bill like that, it would go into my little box with all the special money.

The question is, is there a "scale" that Georgers use to describe bill condition. We are asked to mention the condition in the notes & I have always just used my judgement & called them very good, good, fair, & poor. That's is quite a bit subjective & tends to vary depending on my mood. Seems to conflict with what I just read. What I would call poor would probably be good by that scale. I do include mention of the occasional marks (which I describe a bit) and tears (which I tape).

I do realise that this is a question & may belong in the other forum. Please indulge me, the post I am refering to is here & I won't make a habit of it. I have asked & answered my fair share of questions there.
