: Very good points, Beaker, but I still stand by my original point, which was that the Alerts ARE part of Where's George, and this IS the appropriate place to post them. There's a good chance that people could have missed the alert if they didn't read Justin's post. I did. Perhaps that means I should pay more attention, but wouldn't it be better if a post called my attention to the Alert if it meant a life could be saved?

Personally, I think that "linked to on the site" does not equate to "related to the site." Asking about the Amazon link, or reminding people of the Amber alert in general certainly is valid. However, the point was that Justin was specifically mentioning one of the alerts. The problem there is this - what if we posted every one of those alerts? I have no problem with occasionally reminding people that the alert is there, or that people should buying stuff from Amazon should use Hank's link, or anyone signing up for eBay should use the WG link.

: : : Of course I want messages to be posted in the correct forum. I don't think any of the forum regulars would disagree with you there. Heck, I appreciate the forum police keeping things in order. But this forum is for general discussion about Where's George. Is the Code Amber Alert System not part of Where's George? It is the first thing you see when you enter every forum. If I posted a message asking for Hank's link to Amazon.com, I doubt the forum police would say one word about it,
