Subject: Complicated question for Hank (or anyone else who knows the answer)
Posted by Taekwondo Man on April 7, 2003 at 1:29 PM:

I live in Arizona which does NOT observe daylight savings time. Last month, the bills I entered showed the time and a (-7) which means 7 hours behind Grenwich time. This morning I entered some bills and it still shows up as (-7). I just received a hit from Arkansas that shows the time with a (-6).

During non-daylight savings time periods, this is correct. Arkansas is 1 hour ahead of Arizona (-6 vs. -7). But today, with daylight savings time in effect, Arkansas is 2 hours ahead of Arizona.

So, shouldn't bills entered over most of Arizona show up as (-8) now? Or should bills entered in Arkansas show up as (-5)?

My Arkansas hit today was a bill that I entered last May. Both today's entry and my original entry was at a time when daylight savings time was being observed over most of the country. My original entry shows (-7) with the Arkansas hit (-6).

I hope I'm not repeating a question that's already been answered a dozen times the last few days.
