I just had an online discussion with a friend who is a banker. She said they send any bill that has our markings on it, regardless of its condition, to the Federal Reserve to be destroyed. She claims that banking law indicates that ANY marking on a bill renders it defaced and so they are especially happy to have them destroyed.

Is there a report of serial numbers that are destroyed so that we can enter those as dead?
