Subject: It would appear we have 2 groups. "Puritians" and more "liberal" people.

Please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to cause any trouble at all. In fact, what I do is mild compared to some of the others who color their bills with all the colors of the rainbow (you know who you are). Why are boarders OK but not Series? I mean, your average John Doe (or maybe Billy Bob or Cleatus here in the Southern US) does not know where/what the series is. In fact, average John Doe does not even know what a mint mark on a coin is. Believe me, this is true. I have even asked bank tellers "what Series is that bill" or "what mint mark is on that Indiana quarter". They look at me like I am an idiot or even laugh at me and some have even asked, "what are you talking about".
I would think highlighting the boarders would be worse than highlighting the series. I would think highlighting all 4 boarders would cover around 10% of the bill while highlighting only the series would only cover about 2% of the bill at the most. As a matter of fact, I have sent HANK Friends payments in cash with the Series highlighted and have not received any complaints from him.
I guess there is no set definition. As I have said before, there are the Puritians and the "liberals". All of us are entitled to be different from the "bold and courageous" georgers who stamp their bills everywhere to the Chicken and even Naked/Natural Georgers (I used to think a Naked George was an unmarked George and a Neekid George was an "adult" George). I guess some people just have to agree to disagree. And with over 1.3 million users, this is not very difficult at all. Just my 2 cents.

: Well, Jason, it's kind of a touchy subject. Hank originally said not to highlight at all. But after several people pressed him to be specific, he replied that highlighting the boarders is OK.
: However, I only seen the "post" from Hank stating his disaproval of highlighting. The part about the boarders being OK was what someone said they got in an e-mail from Hank.
: Look at it from this point of veiw... So long as the person entering the bill has the bill with them, they will find the series. The only time you would really have to worry about them not finding it is if they wrote down the serial number, spent the bill, and went home to enter it. That of course is a no-no. :)
: Play it safe, friend, stick to the boarder.
: Also, to address your "sinner or not" question...
: Unless it has changed since the last time I've read it, I don't think the "User Guidelines" have the rule regarding highlighting (yet). Sin in the past: no. Sin in the future: Don't risk it.

: Hope I was helpful.

: Happy Georging.
