: This is what I do: : 1) Insert or verify default notes in your preferences with 'bill entry count variable'. [Optional Step] : 2) Open a new window to enter bills (right click Where's George Home) / Open Link in New Window). : 3) In notes, enter bill's condition. Bill entry count will be updated automatically. : 4) Page down (do not use the back button). However, when I started on a strap of new $1 bills, I used my old pattern of entering the bill, clicking submit, hitting the browser's "back" button patching the serial number (which still exists in the edit field) to the next value, then submit, backup, .... : : Well doing this does not increment the 'entry count', so I had about 10 bills with the same entry number (before I caught what was going on). : : I really like the serial number being there when I am entering new bills. It would be a bad thing to have it there all the time (usually it is of no use on the next bill). However, I have found that this value being "sticky" certainly helps out correctly entering new sequential bills. It would be nice to have a FOG setting (check box) which was a "sticky" serial, which would transfer the last serial# entered into the current serial # field. : : One other thing I have noticed about the new "default text" is that if I add some text to it, that text does not appear in the next note. I use this to describe the appearence of bills. I sort them into piles based on serial and condition, so the same note will be used on 5 to 10 bills in a row. Using the "back" button on the browser allows this to function, however, the 'entry count' variable does not update. Darn catch-22 sitation. Looks like I will have either a condition listing or a entry count. : : PS, don't take this email as disliking the default text. To the contrary, I LOVE it, and think it can really be put to use. I certainly like the auto counter of bills. That is certainly a very nice additional feature! : : JimF
