I have an idea for a Where's George Project. The premise is to release 5,000 WG $1 bills into circulation on a pre-determined dat, 100 in each state by a volunteer in each state. Here's what I'm thinking...
(1) I'd register a second account just for these 5,000 bills.
(2) I'd need a volunteer from each state.
(3) The volunteer from each state would need go get a unused bank strap of 100 $1s and email me the range of 100 serial numbers so I could enter them into this Experiment account.
(4) The volunteer would then stamp each bill in a way that is consistent with all 5,000 bills used in this experiment.
(5) At the pre-determined day when the bills are to be released into circulation, the user would SPEND the bills locally. No geocaches. No sending the bills in the mail anywhere. No spending them more than 25 miles from the volunteer's home and within the same state.
I would maintain a summary of hits achieved on that userid's profile and maintain hit maps similar to the hit maps used on my user profile (look at it).
NOTE: I'm not taking volunteers at this moment. Please don't get a strap of new bills and email me any serial numbers. I'm just looking for input. Has this been done before? Is it a good or dumb idea?
