It is correct to Enter, Mark, Spend (EMS). Incorrect database entries create extra work for Hank.

In the past, I have had the misfortune of losing power and/or internet access while EMSing. If I had ‘marked’ first, then I would not have felt comfortable about spending those bills without ‘entering’. There is a low chance of this happening. But it does happen. There are other examples in the forums, where someone marked bills, were interrupted, and when they returned to the computer, their spouse had taken the bills to spend *yikes*. You can use the forum search to find many examples.

My main reason for posting this follow-up are:

1) Hank gets busy and does not have time to carefully read every post. He appreciates other Georgers to assist politely. Just because he does not directly address your procedure, does not make it correct.

2) We don’t wish to have new Georgers practicing incorrect procedures (should they read your post).

My attempt is to shed a little light from a different perspective; not to point fingers and say ‘bad girl’. I hope my post is taken as constructive and not offensive. I have always liked reading your posts in the past.
