Your story reminds me of something that happened at work about five years ago. I was helping to design modifications to a program, to make it handle a different type of Social Security claim - 2001-series bills, let's say. When we had the thing up and running, the programmer sent around an e-mail to the users. She intended it to say, "Program X has now been modified to handle 2001-series bills," but somhow she typed 'not' instead.

You should have heard the reactions!
