i posted this on WW, but perhaps this is the better place to ask: does anyone know how Hank picked the george score formula? is there any reason behind the choices for functions -- sqrt(ln(...)) for instance? anyone who could point me to anything or offer their own opinion would be much appreciated. thanks!
