... and time it takes to keep something like this running as well as this site obviously is without having direct experience or hearing the guy who's actually doing it describe the requirements. (How's that for a run-on sentence?!?) Anyway, I know I didn't until I read that epistle!
I called a $72/year subscription to Friends a luxury item for me a few posts below. But after hearing Hank describe what I'm sure is an average week for him here, I'm convinced that I need to do what I can to keep my end up. I am a heavy user (What else can I do at work when it's slow?). And I have to admit that 20 cents a day is a bargain considering what you get here.
I also think tom has a point - if I understood his original idea. I'm afraid that administratively it would be a nightmare for Hank to take on. (Somehow I was convinced Hank had SOMEBODY helping him. I mean WHO can do all this stuff by himself?!?)
I think the important thing is to be honest and do what you can to support the site, whether it's being a "true" Friend, an "intermittent" Friend or waiting around for those blasted coffee mugs!
Now if only Hank would take his thumb off the button that's restricting my hits ....
