At most, the difference is about 1% of your score. If the discrepancy in the state rankings is causing so much angst among you all, I'll just remove it altogether. The state rankings need to be updated during low periods of inactivity - and that means either early morning or very late evening - and both will have the same effect. And I can't just change the forumla for the state rankings, since they are just based off of the last time people ran YOUR BILLS. Also, if I start to monkey with the GS formula to add some grace period to the state rankings, people are going to start complaining about that too: "how come my state ranking GS is higher than my YB GS?". The formula needs to be consistant between different parts of the site. In the end, the state rankings really only reflect the results as of yesterday. I moved the process to run at 3AM EST, which should improve the situation. Also, since the page is now static HTML, those people who haven't noticed a change just need to "refrfesh" or "reload" the page to get the latest version.
