There's a very interesting report in the latest issue of Paper Money magazine: Some collector name of Francis Klaes has been staring at his bills even more closely than I do

, and he's determined (from looking at plate positions) that the BEP mistakenly printed run #1 of the 1995 $1 B..* notes twice. There was one printing with serials B00000001* to B00640000*, and another printing with serials B00000001* to B00320000*. So
the serials from 00000001 to 00320000 were actually printed twice, though in most cases the two printings can be distinguished by the relationship between the plate position and the serial number. I wonder if any of these have ever caused trouble with WG's error-correction page...?
There's an address given in the article to write to the author, which I certainly plan to do. But meanwhile, if anybody here has a 1995 $1 New York star note with a serial below 00320000, both I and a lot of other people would like to hear the details. I know that 1995 $1's aren't exactly common these days, but keep your eyes open for these, please....
Secondly, I've been collecting information on the serial ranges of the BEP's
uncut sheets, and I seem to have discovered another instance of serial duplication: There are two different, overlapping print runs in the 1988A $1 K..A block, with high 999xxxxx serials. This time the two printings are easier to distinguish; one was printed at Washington, DC and the other at Fort Worth. Anyway, if you happen to collect sheets--or if you just happen to run across a note cut from a sheet in circulation--please look out for these 1988A $1 K999..A serials as well.
Any reports of notes in the above two ranges, with serials, plate positions, plate numbers, &c. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all, and happy georging to you!
