now I have to type at least five characters here, so "nt" isn't really applicable anymore.

It also takes about 10 times longer to get through a thread. So much slower with all the fancy shmancy graphics and colors and buttons.

Too much clicking around to read posts and post replies. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I guess I'll get over it, but I don't really like this format either.

I'm trying to figure out how to reply in the right spot! I've already made a couple of mistakes in the Western Forum. I hope this one shows up under Agent Splat, M.D. "I'm trying to figure..."

EDIT: Oh well, I have no frickin' clue how to reply properly.

Trying to post under Tweety Neets here.

I think you got it. Also, if you want more easily reply to something someone said, you can make it obvious by clicking "quote" in their post. then what they say will be in a quote box in YOUR post, like this.

I'm trying to figure out how posts like "WWYL2K" and "Who Am I" will work here.

I want to see where this will show up, if it's under Splat's or at the end of the list. Because if it's at the end of the list, we'll be scrolling all over to figure out what the heck people are talking about. I'm so VISUAL, and I like having all the titles in one place.

Any thread (which is at least half of ours, I'd say) that involves a list of short answers, comic one-liners, or ongoing one-liner conversations won't work here.

*sigh*

I have the flu, and I don't have the energy today to learn something new. :(

Go to Quick Links or User CP and select Edit Options. One of the options you have is to turn off the display of avatars (those nifty pictures under everyone's screen name). That will reduce scrolling in most cases.

As for one-liner stuff, why not just post the one-liner in both the title and message bodies? It will get past the body text requirement and it wouldn't be too confusing.

Hybrid is a little closer to what we're used to. Im not thrilled with the change but we'll have to make it work.

Answers can go in the post title, and games like that work in message bodies if you have signatures and avatars turned off.

I don't think the Song Titles game will work well here either. I guess I'll spend the next few days learning the way this forum works before I do another Song Titles.

People would be forced to answer based on the last song, they won't be able to branch out, near as I can tell.

Look up to the right, see 'display modes'?
You can click thread view and see threads only.
You won't see a persons post until you click their subject.

Even still, you can't see all 20-30 at once, which is what's so fun about the song titles. I can only see the titles of about 10 posts at the top. I don't like having to do so much scrolling, and I have a roller wheel thingie on my mouse -- it must be miserable for the people who have to keep clicking.

I am a little lost too. I liked it when you could see what the people sub-posted.
I shouldn't have made Cassidy my avatar. I should have made it Confused Claire (these are cartoon characters I made up).

Hit the "Quote" or "Quick Reply" button on the post you want to show up under. On the threads in Hybred mode it will show you there but your post for it will be counted as "What Number Posted" to this thread and show you as the last person to respond to the thread as a whole.

Hope this helps IB,

All pics and Avatars can be turned off in your User CP (Control Panel) at User Options.

Also, try setting the default Threaded Message Format which will then be more like the old form.

vBulletin is very powerful and will handle huge amounts of WheresGeorge traffic as the number of Georger's increases.
