The Call
Night sounds drift through the window
Dawn a distant echo still hours away
Voices of long forgotten memories
return to taunt.
Suddenly ringing bells
Her voice fresh we resume our strained incantations,
And my skin crawls as she shares her
Menus of misery.
:p :)

Ha -- just kidding. I knew that. I'm the Sonnet Queen on the Western Forum. Well, OK, I wrote ONE. Anyway, here's another one from my tiny little archives, such as they are. No context, no title, you'll get it.
walk the sand
smell the night
see the dark
hear the stars
feel the waves come crashing to the patient earth
come home to my arms
find trust in my eyes
speak peace in my ears
and hope to my mind
feel my heart come soaring to your flying soul

Her Dream...
She awoke telling me her bizarre tangled dream
And her refusal to accept the circumstances of
Her fears laid bare.
Her family and Brad Pitt together in the
Multi-roomed divided house,
Reflecting mirrors and muted light.
Dancing and fishing in the living room pool,
People singing, laughing, crying, some sighing.
She watched us from her window
A tangled web of confused pain
Bobby, Dottie, Spike, Karen, the kid.
Alone in her awareness,
She felt our comings and goings, listened to our stories, wiped our tears
And loved us from her depths.

Melt melt melt melt melt. :o
I'm taken ... but THANKS!!! It's really nervewracking putting this stuff out here, since every line of it means something real to me and it might just sound like random words to someone else. Did you see my other one on the old forum? I might be able to find it. I write so little of it anyway, so I don't have a very thick skin as far as people not liking it. My music, hey, you don't like it, fine ... there's some of my stuff I don't like either. (lol) But this is different.
You know. It just is.

HEAD ON THE GROUND
MY FEET ARE GLUED TO THIS DOWN ESCALATOR
AND MY CREATOR ISNT TAKING MY CALLS
I'LL TRADE DISTRACTION FOR SATISFACTION
MY HEADS A MESS LIKE THE WRITING ON THE WALLS
BUY A LIE IF ITS GONNA MAKE YOU HAPPY
TAKE A CHANCE WHEN THE ODDS ARE ON YOUR SIDE
ONLY IF THE REWARD IS WORTH THE RISK
HEAD ON THE GROUND AND FEET IN THE SKY
I BURNED THE BRIDGE BEHIND ME WHEN I GOT HERE
I BROKE THE CRUTCH THAT I THOUGHT I WOULDNT NEED
THE SEASONS CHANGE BUT STILL I FEEL THE SAME
I WONT CRY BECAUSE I CAN ALLWAYS LEAVE
SELL A LIE CAUSE IT JUST MIGHT MAKE ME HAPPY
TAKE A CHANCE WHEN GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE
ONLY IF THE REWARD IS WORTH THE RISK
HEAD ON THE GROUND AND FEET IN THE SKY
I CANT STAY IN A PLACE THAT IM NOT WANTED
BUT I CANT FIND A SPOT TO CALL MY HOME
SOMEONE SAID YOU'RE ONLY LOST WHEN YOU ARE LEAD
BUT I WONT LIE I CANT DO THIS ON MY OWN
I CANT TELL WHICH WAY THE SIGNS ARE POINTING
OR WHEN ADVICE SOUNDS GOOD ENOUGH TO KEEP
I HOPED MY HEART WOULD GIVE ME SOME DIRECTION
BUT ITS HARD TO KNOW WHEN YOUR HEAD'S SO DEEP
(performed by Lauralea/Tripp fabulous, written by Tim Magrogan and music by Jesse Murray)
Please forgive the all caps - thats how I had it written on my website - I never got around to adjusting the capitalization of it.
