Inspired by Ron's thread.
Do you keep track of how many MPG you're getting? And what kind of driving do you do to get that?
I just calculated that I'm getting 36 MPG, with a daily commute of 100 mi on country highways at an average speed at or around 70 MPH.

My husband, who also commutes about 100miles a day round trip, seems to get approximately 25 miles to the gallon, considering when he has to fill up when he drives. He and 3 other people carpool, so he only drives once every 4 weeks!:D :D
Mine gets about the same amount, but I've pretty much parked it. Unless I HAVE TO, I'm not driving ANYMORE! (Mom's Taxi Service has closed for the expensive gas season!):D

My car does it for me. I get about 17 mpg in stop and go, bumper to bumper, lucky if I get over 30 mph, rush hour city traffic. Longer trips I've gotten over 30 mpg.

My Tacoma gets about 17-18 miles per gallon, not bad for a 4X4. My old 1980 Toyota truck gets about 13 miles per gallon, but it has carb problems, and the timing is off, and the exaust leaks, and so on and so on........... Once the carb gets fixed, it should get around 20 miles per gallon (I hope).

Yep, I do.
I get a little over 11.5mpg in my car:eek: with my daily driving to work and back. I only travel about 12 miles to work, and 10 miles back, and only about 2 of it on the way in, is highway miles. Even then, I stay on the feeder, since I would have to get off of the same overcrowded ramp that I would get on. 9 times out of 10, I hit the green light for the intersection that I would go over getting on the freeway. I think I counted 17 or 18 lstop lights I pass through every morning, and I almost ALWAYS get caught at 7-9 of them every morning.
I'd actually use less gas, if I lived 2 blocks from the freeway, and 20 miles away from work!! On the highway, I get anywhere between 18-23mpg, depending on how heavy my foot is at the time! (and, as the price goes up, my foot gets lighter) Just ask TxPegasus. On the way back from the NYE Gathering in Birmingham, I got just a tad under 23 mpg on my last fill from that trip!! That kind of mileage in a 36 year old car is unbelievable! It also helps that I have an O/D tranny, and a highway gear in the rear end (somewhere between 2.92-3.08, I've been told).
My car, is the one in my Avatar, btw.
