BET $10 notes

Just thought I'd re-post this important announcement from Seth from the old forums, in case anyone missed it!




As you know there is currently an active recall of all the old 2001 $10's. BET was the last 2001 $10 prefix printed. It's a very short run, they printed less than 10% of a regular full run. These BET bills are now being bought up by collectors for $100 each!

There have been 316 of them entered on WW so far! If you get any more, DON'T EMS! Keep them, put them on eBay, take them to a dealer, whatever. !Or at least save them for me. :)


I myself haven't found any yet, but I keep hoping!

Since I originally posted the info, 23 more have been entered!

Most of the BET bills were distributed in Quebec. Maybe a translation in the P-V F? forum would help to prevent more of these being EMSed.

pffff, you guys ems 1 or 2 bet? What about 20? Yes... I EMS,ed 20 bet before started to keep it... The worst is that bet was in extremely fine to uncirculated condition! yes, you read right.:mad:

now that i know that bet worth something, I only found 8 of them.
by the way, if somebody is interested by my BET bills, let me know by e-mail.
They are not perfect, but maybe one or two is in very fine condition. May I hope to get some cash for these bills?

For the first time since the 2001s virtually dissappeared weeks after the introduction of the 2005s, they seem to be making a reappearance!!:cool:

In the past week or so as noted earlier by Bu$ter, more of the 2001s seem to be circulating. I myself have received at least 12 notes, 2 of which were FDTs. It was obvious that one (http://www.whereswilly.com/report.php?key=926862f69fbe71a73d772ae73e9cb927a33 d6199ce6d8826) of them had been sitting in someone's collection. The remainder were in varying degrees of condition but still in decent shape.

I've got at least one cashier on the look out for BEP and BET $10s and have yet to see any on a Dealer's table.

My guess for this recent resurgence may be as a result of increased demand for $$ while the printing companies are preparing for the upcoming Holiday season.
