Hey everyone, it's time to put your thinking caps on again!! Douglas is heading out west in the next month or so and asked about a gathering before then.

It's all open and your suggestions on location, dates and activities would certainly help. Also if you're wanting to attend we need to know that too.

Personally I think it would be nice to have it in the Golden Triangle and meet some of the newer locals such as Judita.:D

What do you think?

As long as it sometime before the 25th of November, it is acceptable to me. However, the closer the gathering is to the date of my flight, would act as a better guarantee of your bills travelling out west.

Any location is acceptable.

I would hope to make it, but it depends on my work/school schedules.

Since this seems to be in the K-W area, perhaps Saturday will be an option this time around.

Saturday works fine for me but not some others like Bu$ter. If we were to pick a Sunday then either the 13th or 20th would do just great. The usual time slot of 12-? will allow those who want to explore afterwards time to do so.

We've already covered most of the restaurants around highway 8, so perhaps Fairview Mall might be a good idea. Only problem is we'd need a second location in which to do our trading (open food court=bad idea). There are a number of restaurants on Fairway Rd: Williams, Swiss Chalet, St. Louis Bar and Grill, Molly Blooms, King Buffet(opening soon), Jack Astors, Crabby Joes, Oriental Taste and a few fast food joints. My choice would be either St. Louis, Molly Blooms or Jack Astors, the latter of which is a noisy place to begin with.

I will be sure to have enough Winter Willys for everyone!!:p

For me, I'd think Jack Astor's would be the best place for the gathering. The other two locations are a good distance away from the mall for those that one to go their separate ways either after the gathering, or for the non-Williers to go while we trade and eat.

Peter B

I'll look into setting something up for Jack Astors, unless one of the other restaurants is suggested by the majority. They're all within a short distance of each other anyways.

I think the 20th would be the best and closer to Douglas' departure date. Anyone else have any suggestions or wish to confirm that they are coming please PM me or email me before the end of October. November is likely a busy month for reservations. If the Sunday is a problem then we can go to the Saturday instead, since I don't start until 4pm and will have the cab with me on the 12th and 19th.

Does every Jack Astor's have an Elvis room? I could ask for that!!

Jack Astor's sounds fine to me! (I should be right at home with the other Jack-asses!) ;)
Saturday is not as much as a problem for me as it used to be, actually. The only thing is that it would have to be about 3:pm at the earliest, if I were to make it.

Sunday is no problem either. I think that I could swing it.

I will try to come out.

Special Notice
I have a severe allergy (anaphylaxis) to seafood, so I try to avoid places which serve majorly seafood items.

We need an excuse to plan a WWWG as well!

Who Is Shakira?
She is a really hot singer-chicky who can really shake her hips!

Grey Cup weekend! Either the Friday or Saturday evening would be the best, although it should probably be earlier if it is the Friday, as I'll still be on Ontario time.

This appears to be the best date for me, and I have yet to hear from anyone requesting another date.

So for the time being let's go with this:

Date: November 20, 2005
Time: 12:00-4:00
Place: Jack Astors (http://www.jackastors.com/en/locations/location.cfm?locid=9)
Activities: Food, Discussion,Willy Swapping, Picture taking, Shopping, etc.

Some of you may opt to do a little shopping beforehand. Fairview mall is on your way to the restaurant.

Here's another Map (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab=home&address=509+Wilson+Ave&city=Kitchener&state=ON&zipcode=) to help you find Jack's. Basically whether coming from the east or west, you need to take Highway 8 from the 401 heading into Kitchener. Exit off Weber St., turn right towards Fairway Rd, right again and left onto Wilson Avenue(across from Burger King).

I'm in!

Peter B
October 26th, 2005, 12:14 AM
and appreciated Dougy B!! Your presence will ensure your spot as the WW Ambassador. LOL

We will need to put our heads together and come up with some interesting activities to entice some who may be on the fence for this one and keep things exciting. Generally the Golden Triangle Gatherings have been on a smaller scale considering the impact it has had, but I'm hoping that will change. there's no reason why they should stay that way.

Though a little early to say for sure, I'm hoping to see the following attendees: Wolf, Dougy B, Lee, Blind Williemctell, Stormchaser, Trillium Trixie, Bruce & Trish, Douglas, Bu$ter and the Gang, Judita, James & Bernadette and a few new faces.

and a few new faces.

PeterB:

I will try to have my new face ready in time for the SOWWG, but I can't guarantee anything.

*grin*

She's probably the biggest name in Latino pop right now! Although her English stuff is crap compared to her Spanish stuff, so I wouldn't recommend it. Although if you actually speak Spanish, you begin to wonder why you listen to her because all she sings is absolute non-sense. Except "Ojos asi" which is my favourite song, in which she falls in love with some hot Muslim with dark eyes. But I digress.......(still--I mean, always)..........

I won't be able to make it to the gathering as Sundays are bad for me. We're always booked all day, so pooh. It doesn't work. Otherwise (for future gatherings), I'm free most nights and Saturdays.

Oh well; you can't please them all, eh?

By the by, which cab companies to you cabbies work for? Because I occasionally have to call one, and I could always hope to meet you incidently that way. And I DO tip. :) Hasta.....

Thanks for the heads up Judita!! Carolyn, and I drive for UNITED TAXI and Stormchaser is a Waterloo Taxi driver. DON'T GET EXCITED, CALL UNITED!!

A solution to your dilema may be this:

You and I could meet briefly at a Timmys to swap some bills and stories, which I will then share with the group on the 20th. I've done that on a few occasions as have others prior to Gatherings where certain individuals were unable to attend but wanted their bills to circulate at the table. At the Niagara Falls gathering I had a bunch of Bu$ters bills and he got the first hit on a bill that I traded with him and spent after the meeting!! Send me a note and we can go over some details. Of course having you there in person to meet the gang would be much more fun!!

I was hoping you'd say that, although I thought for a while you might be with Golden Triangle as that's your little tag-line on the whatsitcalled. United is the one I always call, because I can remember the number. :) LOL Have to keep it simple for me. Also, the first time I called them, the taxi was there no more than 90 seconds later. That's service, eh?

Anyway, PM on the way.......

That's my birthday! If your hit-streak goes until then, will you buy me a present???

Judita, I hope that my hit streak will continue to December surpassing the 365 day mark which is your Birthday (Nov 28). Your Birthday may just be the good luck charm to keep it going!! Speaking of Presents, I will have some Willy/Numismatic related gifts for everyone in attendance. I found some interesting items the other day one of which was a 3 Stooges Mug, but I didn't buy it yet incase our Hamilton Friend elects not to go.

So if I could get a head count by the 15th then I can make the reservation and have the right # of goodies for everyone!

As I mentioned in the Gatherings Forum (under other stuff), we have a total of 12 confirmed attendees to the November Kitchener Gathering. A few people emailed me to say they couldn't go and I'm hoping to hear from Lee and James for a grand total of 15 including Bernadette.

I'll be keeping my trades to a minimum (2 or so per person) this time so that everyone except for some of the Locals will get some. I have 8 of Judita's bills which I will be sharing with the out of towners.

So if you want in on the fun, I need to hear from you by Wednesday so I can book us a table.

Since I'm westward bound 5 days later, am I considered an out-of-towner this time around?

Peter B
November 15th, 2005, 04:35 PM
I booked us the "Elvis Room" for 12pm under the name Peter. As of yet there has been no response from James and Lee is unlikely coming due to work restrictions.

Of course you're part of the 'out of towner' group this time Douglas!! I see Stormchaser and Carolyn at least 2x a week and we generally don't do much trading with each other.

Looking forward to seeing everyone then!!

I've been holding off responding as I never really know. Unfortunately it looks like I won't be able to do anything more than a "fly-by". I too will be working Sunday afternoon .. but at least for me I can do it while sitting in front of the football games! :D

With 11 people in attendance including 3 Williers in training, I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Newcomer Greg (http://www.whereswilly.com/user_profile_popup.php?ukey=d76449f29b4293b9115b12 4f4b5afd44) was a welcome addition and the food and service was excellent! Absent today were: Dougy B:eek: (you're slipping!), Dave and Stormchaser 77. Mind you, each person including our favourite Chicken Willier Lee were talked about. Anyone's ears burning today? LOL

Greg expressed some real interest off the bat in becoming a 'technowillier' and learning the fine art of inkjetting. His reason's were that his current handstamp doesn't quite fit where he wants it and lack of variety, colours and other options were mentioned as well. I told him to keep the trodat on standby, as it will be needed frequently. Looks like Carolyn, Bruce, Bu$ter and I will have some competition soon in this area! Greg: Paper is cheap and you can print on it numerous times, so keep experimenting and find something that's going to be discrete yet noticable and unique to you.

Once finished eating I passed around a box starting with Greg, where everyone got to pick a gift to take home. The 3 girls all got a 50 cent piece and veteran quarter. Quite fitting the Elvis booth was holding all of us comfortably and Bu$ter's Daughter was thrilled because she and Elvis share the same Birthday!:D

We contined on with a little show and tell for Greg's benefit and those who had revised some of their marking techniques. Douglas traded with everyone in the group, who were more than happy to have their bills head out west on Friday. Despite being 'Willy Poor', he managed to accomodate everyone! Judita (http://www.whereswilly.com/user_profile_popup.php?ukey=946cb0f46e9721a80f74d0 ba7bd6aa69)'s bills from my earlier meeting with her were divided up between Carol, Bruce, Buster and Douglas.

Here are the the pics (http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.jsp?mode=fromshare&Uc=r264her.551kkgf&Uy=-qm3ljg&Ux=1) from the meeting. For those who attended feel free to post and share your stories if you like!!

Thanks again to all who attended and for those who were unable to, we can look forward to celebrating Where's Willy's big 5th Anniversary with you in February of 2006. Happy Willying!!

I was glad I was able to make it, as well as my dear wife. It was fun, and we went and spent 2 more "Liz bearing willies" so to speak over at The Bay in the mall.

Another wonderful get-to-gether. Peter you have a definite flair for organizing events such as this. Maybe you should think about being a professional party organizer, lol. It was really nice to meet Greg and visit once again and trade bills with everyone. Looking forward to the next one!
