Do you believe the funny caption threads (posted by the Queen of Captions, Lisa in Delaware) are games or just fun threads?

I wouldn't consider them games, you're just putting a caption on a picture.

it is a game since you are challenging folks to be funnier than the previous posters.... In the same vein as Who's Line is it Anyway... Sure, that show wasn't really a game show, but then again it was.... Fine line but I think it goes more with the games than not.

To be honest, I never considered it to be a 'game'...I just found everyone here to be so funny, it was more for my (and anyone elses!) amusement. A 'game' sounds like a competition, and I never thought of 'captions' as a competition, more like something to express one's creativity.

I agree with you (like you don't alread know that by now LOL).
It never occurred to me that it was a game...

Its not a game. Look up the definition of game, not even close. If there were rules and a single goal, sure, not there. If its a game, then any thread is.
Here's a game! I'll post some words and then you post some too! The object is to discuss a topic! :)

posting a caption is like a bunch of us just sitting around and talking. with a game there's an element of skill or a challenge to continue the thread.

An activity providing entertainment or amusement; a pastime: party games; word games.
Its not a game. Look up the definition of game, not even close. If there were rules and a single goal, sure, not there. If its a game, then any thread is.

No. As Jack pointed out, the games have specific rules and objectives. If you don't follow the rules, your post is ignored and passed over. The purpose of the funny caption topics is to produce a stream of posts inspired by the caption. No rules to follow, no objective other than being funny (which is the general objective of this entire forum).
