Introducing the BOQ -- an idea for making some of our games work...

Bear with me on this, folks. I'm borrowing an idea from another forum I'm on, but we will have to implement it a little differently here since we don't have the ability to put a "template" into our posts so that the next person can copy it and have it show up the same way.

A "BOQ" on my other forum. stands for a "Bunch of Questions". The idea is that since this is a forum that has threads that bounce back to the top as they're posted on, we may want to do things a little differently here to accommodate this style of board. So, a BOQ could be used for something like a number of "Intelligent Survey" questions at once, and not posted every day. It can also be used for a list of any number of questions that someone wants to post to get answers to. So, since we're not answering in the headers, we can answer more things in one thread.

I'd like to demonstrate here. We may have to play with it over time to have it look the way we'd like. The idea is the the first person posts a number of questions, and the next people hilight the questions and copy them into their answer and then answer them. Now, because we can't template so that the next person's questions are automatically bolded while our answers aren't, we'll have to either all hilight the questions or just read between the numbers.

I'd like to demonstrate what I mean with a couple of posts and some nonsensical questions. If this post was the BOQ posted by me, normally someone else would answer first and there wouldn't be so much wordy stuff up here but bear with me. My next post, I will answer and show you what I'm talking about.

So, that's the general idea of how we can make some of our question and answer games work, and come up with some fun new things as well.

The only problem is that with the above answer, I had to go in and hilight my answers and make the text a different color and for a couple of answers un-bold it. The other forum I mentioned has templating so you could copy the template and each line is formatted separately, so when you write a reply under the question your reply is automatically in the "default" style of text, which makes it look different from the questions. That way it shows up better without having to change each line. I don't think the tiny extra bit of work of formatting your answers is that big of a deal, though.

One thing to remember, though is you must just hilight, copy, and paste and do NOT use the "quote" feature to answer something like this.

If you use the QUOTE to copy the questions, just delete the bracketed QUOTE commands and it'll work.
